Of God, Tsunamis and Orphans

The recent disaster in south east Asia has left the world reeling. Graphic images of devastated villages and towns, bloated corpses, fazed women looking out to nowhere and the haunting eyes of children present a picture few imagined they would ever witness in this post modern era.

With international aid on its way, the result of an amazing outpouring of human generosity (and national interests), the theological questions still remain.

If God is all Love, one caller to a local radio station wondered, then why does he have to punish the innocent?
